Growing up in Pittsburgh, PA the world of industry was all around him and by his late teens an abiding interest in railroads was the catalyst that brought him to acquire his first camera. JIM CUNNINGHAM went on to receive a degree in Design and Visual Communications from Southern Illinois University. He then came back to his hometown and commenced his career at Pittsburgh’s most significant and most busy photographic studio and later was staff photographer for Bechtel Corporation on a foreign project for Two years in Saudi. With his combined experience his studio has been serving Corporate and Industrial clientele in the USA by providing remarkable pictures of their employees, products and buildings. JIM CUNNINGHAM’s work has brought him into coal mines, steel mills, railway depots and dozens of production plants as well as medical centres and company offices across the USA and across the planet. He has hung out of airplanes, Crawled around in aThirty-eight inch coal mine and lifted up 200 feet in a crane bucket to get that defining point of view.
