The biggest advantage of being a commercial cameraman is that you follow a subject after your own heart, do a great deal of research on photography and get into this field in a professional way. In addition you get to make a profit. Industrial photography is a highly lucrative, well paid practice. If you are excellent in your work and happen to meet the right clients and get the right jobs, you can end up with a fortune.
Other businesses use company photography for marketing pamphlets to offer to current or prospective clients, or to hand out at job interviews or at recruiting events. In these instances, the company or agency should be seen in the absolute best way. Many individuals recognize stock photographs, and they’re viewed in photography and layout circles as dull and unimaginative images. Companies come across as new and forward-thinking when they use creative, original images in their selling literature and brochures.

JIM CUNNINGHAM has been offering distinctive location photographs to his clients for over twenty years.
Growing up in Pittsburgh the arena of industry was all around him and by his early adulthood an abiding interest in railroads was the spark that brought him to acquire his first camera. JIM CUNNINGHAM went on to receive a degree in Design and Visual Communications from Southern Illinois University. He then went back to his home and began his career at Pittsburgh’s biggest and most active photography studio and went on to become staff photographer for Bechtel Company on a foreign job for 2 years in Saudi. With his combined background experience his studio has been serving Corporate and Business clients across the US by providing outstanding pictures of their workers, items and buildings. Jim’s work has taken him into coal mines, steel mills, railway depots and countless production factories as well as medical centers and company headquarters across the US and globally. He has hung out of helicopters, spalunked around in a 38 inch coal mine and lifted up 2 hundred ft. in a crane bucket to get that exclusive angle of view.
“I enjoy the challenge of going into a situation and making something interesting out of what is seemingly something uninteresting. I think the reason I enjoy [minor] photography so much is also because of all the interesting new worlds it has opened up to me. I wouldn’t trade the folks I’ve met and the places I’ve been to because of it for anything.” JIM CUNNINGHAM
