Growing up in Pittsburgh the world of industry was all around him and by his early adulthood an abiding interest in railroads was the spark that made him acquire his first camera. Jim went on to get a degree in Design and Visual Communications from Southern Illinois University. He then came back to his home and began his career at Pittsburgh’s most significant and most active studio and was promoted to staff photographer for Bechtel Establishment on an abroad assignment for 2 years in Saudi. With his amassed expertise his studio has been serving Corporate and Economic customers throughout the US by providing distinct pictures of their employees, merchandise and buildings. JIM CUNNINGHAM’s work has brought him into coal mines, steel mills, rail yards and many industrial plants as well as hospital facilities and corporate headquarters across the USA and across the world . He has hung out of helicopters, Crawled around through a 38 in. coal mine and lifted up 200 ft. in a cherry picker to get that exclusive point of view.
